The Gibeon meteorite is one of the most valued and sought-after by collectors around the world. This is an iron meteorite which fell in present-day Namibia in prehistoric times and that was used to make weapons and tools by the inhabitants of that time. However, it was found for the first time by Westerners in 1836. It is a fine octahedrite, of a great external and inner beauty, which is usually used to make high-end jewellery. The piece in this lot is a complete slice, of high quality and good size, in which we can see a spectacular Widmanstätten pattern with all the classic features of this meteorite which should not be missing in any collection. A fantastic addition to your collection.
Fantastic piece with patina in one of the side and strong widmanstatten pattern.
Great opportunity!
